Our Building Standards
Dedicated to offering the highest quality services in structured building, construction, and materials.
Our Commitment to Quality
At Classic Barns Ltd, excellence is more than a goal—it’s our foundation. We prioritize delivering superior products built with the finest materials available. Our commitment to quality is reflected in every aspect of our sheds, ensuring durability, resilience, and lasting beauty.
Building Standards with Craftsmanship and Design
Craftsmanship and design are foundational to our building’s construction. We meticulously implement leading-edge design techniques and construction methods, ensuring the delivery of high-quality craftsmanship that endures.
Engineered Structured
Engineered Structured
Our structures are engineered to surpass building codes and local bylaws. Floors are built on pressure-treated skids supporting floor joists, strategically placed to handle Western Canada's snow loads. We prioritize screw-down flooring for security and durability, along with walls framed 16" o/c, reinforced headers, and the robust LP SmartSide siding system for added strength. Upon request, detailed building drawings are available for permitting purposes.
Roof System
Roof System
The roof system of our buildings is another integral component of their construction. All roof systems in our buildings are built using pressed trusses with large steel plates. We also install roof bracing wherever building codes recommend. H clips are another standard feature on our roof systems that help them to meet and exceed snow load requirements in Western Canada.
Exterior Finish
Exterior Finish
The coatings on our sheds are yet another aspect of their construction. The quality of coating directly affects the useful life span of a building, therefore we put a lot of emphasis on a quality paint job. As we previously noted, we use a high-quality paint product. We also employ a number of other techniques to create an outstanding finish. All joints where siding and trim meet are caulked to keep water from leaking behind them and creating rot and other water-related damages. Also, every paint colour is applied twice to achieve maximum coverage, protecting the structure for many years.
Windows and Doors
Windows and Doors
Windows and doors are another component of our buildings that are purposefully designed. Around the windows and doors on our sheds, we install drip cap flashing that sheds water away helping to prevent leakage. Insulated windows are a standard option on all buildings, this adds another degree of protection. We also use silicon around the windows to seal them.
Materials Showcase
Here at Classic Barns, our commitment to delivering excellence begins with our materials. Our sheds are crafted using the highest quality building materials, reflecting our dedication to durability, resilience, and lasting beauty.
Below, explore the selection of materials we employ. Each one is carefully chosen to ensure the longevity and superior quality of every structure we create.
Lumber
All lumber used in our buildings are given an appearance grade or higher rating, providing high-density lumber with minimal wane. This helps us to achieve the highest possible structural integrity and it also makes the interior look great as well.
LP SmartSide Products
Our choice of LP SmartSide Products showcases our dedication to enduring strength, and resisting extreme weather conditions, termites, and decay. The SmartGuard manufacturing process ensures protection against warping, bending, and peeling, with impact resistance proven up to hail of 1.75″ diameter at 130 kph*.
Our exterior paint, Diamond Dulux, is infused with semi-elastomeric acrylic resin and ceramic microspheres, guaranteeing a tough surface that resists dirt, scuffs, and nicks while providing long-lasting aesthetics and durability.
Malarkey Vista Architectural Shingles
Incorporating NEX technology, our Malarkey Vista Architectural Shingles adapt to extreme weather, achieving a Class 3 Impact Rating, sealing tightly against driving rain, and boasting wind warranties up to 177 kph. Moreover, they hold the highest fire rating (Class A) for comprehensive protection.
